Wellness is more than just being free from illness.

It’s about understanding that the whole you is multi-dimensional and every dimension (or aspect of you) needs to be looked after. Just as our physical dimension – the body – needs food and water in order to stay alive, each dimension needs nourishing in order to flourish and support our overall well-being.

We must feed our soul as well as our body.

Physical

The physical YOU keeps your body at its maximum capacity over the entire lifespan; through diet, hydration, sleep, moderate to vigorous exercise 3-5 times a week and limiting use of tobacco, drugs and alcohol.

Emotional

The emotional YOU is being able to own, honour and express your emotions appropriately, adjust to change, cope with stress in a healthy way, and enjoy life despite its occasional disappointments and frustrations.

Social

The social YOU is about interacting well with others through creating and sustaining relationships; whether inside a family unit, at play with friends, or at work with colleagues. It is about humanity.

Intellectual

The intellectual YOU values education, is open to new ideas, thinks critically, is creative, curious and engages in lifelong learning to increase knowledge, develop moral reasoning, foster critical thinking and expand worldviews.

Spiritual

The spiritual YOU needs to feel uplifted by the beauty of the world and nature. This aspect of you needs anything that feeds your inner self and makes you marvel and wonder at the mystery of life.

Occupational

The occupational YOU seeks to develop vocational satisfaction and balance of work and leisure. You choose roles that are consistent with beliefs, goals, lifestyle, personality and values that stimulate and reward.

Environmental
