Financial

Having the money to live the life you want is integral to your wellness. Our relationship with money is uniquely our own and to spend time fully understanding this is necessary in order to effect change.

Remember the quote ‘we are what we think about’? This too, relates to money. How do you view money? How do you think about money?

Are any of these your thoughts? Tick those that may creep into your thought patterns often or occasionally.

  • I am not worthy of having lots of it?
  • There is no way I can ever have [insert amount] of money?
  • I am not good enough, to get the job that earns that sort of money.
  • I always get overlooked for the promotions.
  • I can’t start my own business I have no money.

Are you familiar with concept of ‘self limiting beliefs’? I’ve written about it here.

So, if we hold a belief that is not serving us, we simply bust it using two very simple words …

what if?

What if you are worthy, what if you could have that amount of money, what if you are good enough, what if you could get that promotion, what if you can start your own business?

It really is that simple. By having negative thoughts, we ultimately end up living that exact life … the one we are constantly thinking about. This … be true!

So here are a few tips to get you started on your quest for achieving financial wellness.

  1. Live within or below your means
  2. Avoid credit cards
  3. Pay yourself first. That is, save at least 10% of what you earn
  4. Make a plan, set some goals and explore every angle
  5. Finding it difficult to get a job? Start by serving others. That is, do or offer the thing others don’t want to do
  6. Upcycle and recycle. New doesn’t equal best
  7. Buy and eat fresh. Whole foods are much cheaper than fast food
  8. Ensure that whatever you do, enriches the lives of others
  9. Ask for help. Seek out opportunities
  10. Have faith and persist
